Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Short version: TripPing keeps everything on your device. There are no accounts, no tracking, no analytics, and nothing is uploaded to any server. We don't have a server.

What TripPing collects

Nothing is sent to us or to any third party. During a trip, the app records the following on your device only, so you can review your own trips:

Where your data lives

Trips, videos, and notes are stored locally on your device. They are never transmitted off the device by TripPing. Deleting a trip in the app, or deleting the app, removes that data.

Permissions

Sharing & export

You may choose to share a trip video or export a route as a GPX file. This only happens when you initiate it, and the content goes wherever you send it via the system share sheet. TripPing itself sends nothing.

Network use

The only network activity TripPing performs is measuring latency: it opens (and immediately closes) a TCP connection to the public DNS hosts you select. No personal data is included in these connections, and no measurement results leave your device.

Analytics & tracking

None. TripPing contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. It does not use the Advertising Identifier.

Children

TripPing does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
